Looking for Invisalign in Newcastle?

Invisalign clear aligners are now available at The Good Dentist in Cooks Hill Newcastle.

The Invisalign system is a virtually invisible treatment that gently yet effectively straighten your teeth.

The system involves a series of custom made removable clear aligners made of durable BPA-free plastic. Throughout the series of aligners your teeth will gradually move into the desired position.

Is Invisalign right for you?

Invisalign clear aligners are barely noticeable as they are made of high-quality durable BPA-free clear plastic, so you can be yourself and don’t have to hide your smile while going through treatment.

There should be no need to change your oral hygiene routine as the Invisalign clear aligners are easily removable so you can brush and floss your teeth regularly.

You also have the freedom to eat, chew and drink whatever you like, whenever you like. The aligners just need to be in for 22 hours in a 24-hour period, leaving 2 hours for eating and drinking.

Invisalign treatment appointments work with your schedule. Most visits are in and out, with a quick progress check once approximately every 6-8 weeks.

If you lead an active lifestyle, you won’t need to worry about sharp brackets irritating your mouth with the Invisalign clear aligners.

Many think that Invisalign aligners only work for minor teeth straightening issues, but the Invisalign System can be used to treat a range of moderate to severe teeth straightening issues such as:

Gapped Teeth – when there is considerable space between at least two of your teeth

Crossbite – when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned

Overbite – when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth

Underbite – when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth

Overcrowding – when there is simply a lack of room within your jaw for all your teeth to fit normally

Openbite – when your upper and lower teeth are unable to make physical contact when the jaws are closed

How does Invisalign work?

  1. Initially, you will come in for a consultation with our Invisalign-trained dentists. We will take photos, X-rays, and digital scans or a dental impression to help create your treatment plan.
  2. Using these records, along with the treatment prescribed by our dentist, a customised 3D treatment plan will be created just for you. With the treatment plan, you’ll be able to see the final position your teeth are predicted to reach after treatment. This treatment plan is used to develop your customised aligners and also estimate the likely length of your treatment.
  3. Once your customised aligners are ready, you’ll come in to have them fitted and you’ll receive your first 3-4 sets of aligners to take home and wear every day. You’ll change each set at home approximately every 1-2 weeks, in line with your treatment plan.
  4. You’ll only need to come in for a consultation every 6-8 weeks so your dentist can monitor the progress of your treatment and give you the next series of aligners to take home.
  5. After you’ve finished your Invisalign aligner treatment, we may recommend using retainers to help make sure the new position of your teeth is maintained.

What are the benefits of Invisalign Clear Aligners?

  • The results from Invisalign clear aligners last just as long as the results from traditional braces. Its generally recommended that at the end of the treatment a fixed retainer be worn at night to maintain your new smile.
  • Invisalign aligners are removable, so it is easier to clean your teeth and maintain your oral health during treatment. If you have a special occasion, just take your aligners out for the occasion and pop them back in when it’s over.
  • The Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible so most people won’t know you’re going through treatment
  • Invisalign treatment is a suitable treatment option for an active lifestyle and can be worn or easily removed when playing sport.
  • The Invisalign system uses innovative technologies to ensure your teeth are straightened predictably and more comfortably, minimising any pain or discomfort.
  • Invisalign treatment is ideal for a busy schedule as we only need you to come in for a consultation every 6-8 weeks.
