Unlike your fellow Irishmen, I am West Coaster (originating from Perth), which for Novocastrians is just about as far away as Ireland. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Social Psychology, graduating from the University of Western Australia. Following my undergraduate studies, I moved to the Gold Coast to complete a Bachelor of Dental Health Science & Master of Dentistry. I decided to join my partner Ruby (a Dietitian) over a year ago, in a hidden gem called Newcastle, where I have been practising since.
I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry but have developed a growing interest in oral surgery, restorative dentistry, cosmetics, and endodontics. I remain committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry and am keen on expanding my knowledge in the field of implant surgery.
I am deeply passionate about changing the perception of dentistry, especially for those who have had negative experiences in the past. I understand firsthand how daunting a dental visit can be and how it can lead to people avoiding necessary dental care. For me, there’s no greater satisfaction than working with nervous and anxious patients and seeing them leave feeling confident and no longer afraid of dental visits.
Outside the office, I am a major foodie and welcome all suggestions for new culinary experiences. The lineup on Darby Street has certainly delivered! I like to lead an active lifestyle through weight training and running and am an avid fan of the UFC.
