Hi there! My name is Tenille and I am one of the Receptionists here at The Good Dentist.
I was born and raised in Newcastle and loved growing up in such a beautiful part of the world. Before taking the leap into Dental, I was a Licensed Real Estate Agent for a few years. Quite the career change, but Dental is something I have always been interested in and I’m excited to now be working in the industry.
I’m a bit of a homebody and love nothing more than a movie/gaming night at home with my little family. But I won’t say no to going on an adventure with my favourite people.
Quick Q&A With Tenille Doolan, Receptionist
What is the most satisfying part of the job?
Seeing people come into the practice feeling nervous or worried for their appointment, and having them leave smiling, laughing and happy.
What are the challenges?
Walking past all of the delicious restaurants and cafes on Darby Street going to and from work each day!
What’s your best tip for oral hygiene?
Tongue scraping. I feel better afterwards (every time).
What toothbrush do you use?
Oral B Electric Toothbrush.
How do you create a calm environment for patients who are nervous?
By greeting everybody with a warm smile, and giving patients the space to talk about how they’re feeling. You don’t always know what somebody is going through or how they’re feeling, but I believe kindness and a listening ear goes a long way.
If you didn’t work in a dental clinic, what would you do?
I would love to say I’d be a Florist, but I would probably be a Residential Real Estate Agent.

Dogs – especially Dachshunds!

Savoury.

Favourite way to relax?
Gaming nights with my Fiancé Joe and going on afternoon walks together with our Miniature Dachshund Rosie.
Bucket list item?
Travelling to Japan and renting a Skyline for the day to go for a drive in the Japanese countryside.
What makes you smile?
Being with my family and friends – quite the cliche, but I really am blessed with being surrounded by the best people.
